A little bit about us.

Hi, I’m Elizabeth.

I've always believed that stories can change how people see each other.

As a child, I loved talking. Today, I still do—but now I spend just as much time listening. Because the best communications don't begin with writing. They begin with understanding.

I'm a third-generation Cree-Métis brand and communications strategist with more than 25 years of experience helping governments, Indigenous organizations, businesses and non-profits navigate complex conversations and communicate with purpose.

Storytelling is my craft.

Strategy is how I help organizations create lasting change.

A tradition of translation

Connecting through culture

A First Nations descendant from The Pas, Manitoba, Elizabeth is third-generation Cree-Métis with Polish and Irish ancestry.

Storytelling is part of who I am. My family was present at the signing of Treaty 5 as translators because they could read and write English. They helped bridge understanding between Indigenous Peoples and the Crown.

While the work looks different today, I see my role through that same lens.

I help organizations translate ideas into action, values into brands and complex conversations into communication that builds trust. Whether working with Indigenous communities, governments or businesses, I believe the strongest relationships begin with listening.

Award-winning strategist

Growing and adapting over the last 25 years, Elizabeth has experience spanning government, in-house and agency in marketing, media relations, and public affairs, grounded in a lifelong commitment to advancing Indigenous voices and participation across sectors.

Strategy and Relationships

Elizabeth Bunney Communications helps organizations build brands that people believe in.

Every project begins by understanding who you are, who you're accountable to and how you want people to experience your organization.

From there, we develop the strategy, messaging and storytelling that brings your work to life.

We don't believe communication is simply about visibility.

It's about building trust.

Why we do this work:

  • To honour Indigenous ways of knowing through thoughtful storytelling

  • To create relationships built on trust and understanding

  • To help purpose-driven organizations create meaningful impact

  • To help organizations communicate with clarity and confidence
